Hackman Builders is more than a business—it is a family legacy rooted in enduring relationships. A true State College townie, Steve Hackman, started the building business and soon brought in friends Gary Bontrager and Scott Long to help expand the company’s reach. Together, they not only built Hackman Builders but also established BHL Mechanicals and Penns Valley Building Supply, creating a network of trusted services in the region.
Today, the generational legacy continues with the addition of Shane Murphy and Phil Martin in 2005. Committed to the same principles of craftsmanship, integrity, and trust, Shane and Phil have joined the team in carrying Hackman Builders into a new era. Working alongside the broader Hackman Builders family, they’ve helped support continued growth and expansion, including the addition of Bellefonte Building Supply (formerly Triangle Building Supply), further strengthening the company’s presence and dedication to quality construction throughout the region.
